Operation Highland: the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division conducts a coordinated airmobile assault and ground attack to open the An Khe pass then clear and secure Route 19 from Qui Nhon to An Khe and then to Pleiku. The Brigade moved by air and boat from Cam Ranh Bay to the Qui Nhon area to conduct this operation which secured the An Khe base area for the soon-to-arrive 1st Cavalry Division.
